Chiropractic Services FAQ

Common questions about our chiropractic care line.

What chiropractic services do you offer?

We offer 12 chiropractic and modality services, including adjustments, soft tissue therapy, spinal decompression, acupuncture, dry needling, Class IV K laser, shockwave, ultrasound, EMS, hydromassage, cryotherapy, heat therapy and intersegmental traction. All run at both Apollo Beach and Riverview offices.

Do you treat sports injuries?

Yes. Dr. Ryan Canavan, DC holds a Master's in Athletic Training and leads our sports injury care, supported by Dr. David Fetherman, DC. We blend adjustments, soft tissue work, shockwave therapy and corrective exercises to get athletes back to play.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most major insurance plans for chiropractic care. We also accept Florida PIP for auto injury cases and VA Community Care for eligible veterans. Self-pay options are available. See our payment options page for more.

Is chiropractic adjustment safe?

Yes. Chiropractic adjustment performed by a licensed DC is one of the safest forms of conservative care for mechanical back, neck and joint pain. Each session begins with a screening exam to rule out contraindications and pick the right technique.

How many visits will I need?

Most patients reach their main goals in 6 to 12 visits, though acute issues sometimes resolve in 1 to 3 visits. Chronic or complex cases may need a longer plan. Your provider will outline an estimated visit count after the initial exam.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required for self-pay or most insurance plans. VA Community Care patients do need a VA referral, which we help coordinate through our VA appointment page.

What is the difference between acupuncture and dry needling?

Acupuncture, performed by Dr. Deidre Deany, follows Traditional Chinese Medicine meridians to balance energy and relieve a wide range of conditions. Dry needling, performed by Dr. Amber Roman, targets specific muscle trigger points to release tension and pain. Both use very thin filiform needles.
